Another great rotoscoping video is "shoot the runner" by kasabian. I would like to create some samples of my vid that have the same look as kasabians video bacuase i think it would work really well.

my film title ( THE ART OF 8 LIMBS)
Ive came up with a title for my film, ive decided to call it "the art of 8 limbs". The reason behind this title is because Mauy Thai is often referred to as the sport of eight limbs so I thought it would be cool to keep this in my main title.

mongkons and pra jiads
These are the headbands and armbands thai fighters have on them. The head bands are called mongkons and the armbands are called pra jiads.
WAI KRU RAM MAUY (mauy thai dance)
Before a fight starts in mauy thai each fighter must perform the WAI KRU RAM MAUY. It is a dance that is a sign of respect to there opponent and teacher an is traditional in thailand.
The fighter first performs the wai khru, circling the ring three times before kneeling and bowing three times as a sign of respect to God and man. He also bows to Buddha to ask for protection for himself and his opponent and for an honourable fight.
The fighter then performs the ram muay, whose simple movements demonstrate a fighter's control and style. Each fighter performs the ram muay on each side of the ring to demonstrate his prowess to the audience. The ram muay is a personal ritual, ranging from the very complex to the very simple, and often contains clues about who trained the fighter and where the fighter is from.

mauy thai origins
Before Mauy Thai was introduced there was Mauy Boran. The word Mauy means "boxing" and the word boran means "ancient" but it is referred to as "ancient boxing".
The old rules of muay boran simply consisted of a ban on hitting the groin, eye-gouging, hitting a fallen opponent, grappling or hair-pulling. Weight classes did not exist and there was no specially constructed ring. Instead, matches took place in any open space surrounded by a rough circle of spectators. Rounds were timed by making a small hole into a coconut and placing it in water. When the coconut sank, a drum would be beaten to signal the end of a round

final piece concept
My concept will be about martial arts. In my spare time I like to train in Mauy thai Kickboxing. Mauy Thai is an ancient form of combat that originates from Thailand. The difference between normal Kickboxing and Muay Thai kickboxing is that Muay Thai invloved clinches with fighters, also you can use knees and elbow to strike with. Normal Kickboxing doesnt allow this. But as brutal as some people think this sport is which is true sometimes, theres also alot of history and culture behind it and I love everything about this sport and it would great to put this unique idea into a great piece of film.

thoughts on sound
These sound clips i have added are just experimenting with cultural sounds from parts of the world. Some real interesting vids...Christian Marclay is the man who started the turntable scratching long before hip-hop was doing it. The tribal music is really cool it sorta tells a story in a strange way. If I was to create my own sounds for music maybe they can create a story I want to tell??
sound ideas
After todays lecture Ive had a few samples of sound im going to post up so others can see. Some really interesting peices to share :)

UV light show
This is another amazing video I found on Youtube. Its a theatrical show that includes dancers..lights...and a great performance. I really like how its visually stunning and it uses the UV lights brilliantly, if i wer to create something inspired by this I would need dancers, a stage, cameras, lights etc. It would take time to storyboard and develop but it would be great if it was done correctly.
thoughts
I really like this video I posted. Its a UV stopmotion short vid and as far I can see its the only one of its kind. Its fantastic becuase its carefully done, its well thought out and it all works together nicely. I might take this and design my own piece from this video. Ive has experience with light stop motion so I can develop it on further using Black light ( UV ).
paranormal activity
This is keeping with the horror themes, again I love the idea behind this movie, its relatively cheap is creating but it is genuinely scary and it again its made grossed near $200,000,000 at cinemas. This could be a idea for me to follow...
Blair Witch Project
The Blair Witch Project was a student documentary made by 3 students. The main idea behind this movie was to bring a legend to life in the Blair witch. Most viewers of this believed it to be true but it was a production company that set the whole thing up only costing $22,000. The movie was such a global smash hit it grossed near £250,000,000. But my interest in this film is that it was ametur students that created it an seems so genuine that you almost believe the story. Its a great innovative film idea!
