My final piece is a short film about muay thai. Its put into 3 rounds long and as the rounds go along the video gathers pace an color, a bit like a real muay thai fight. Its black and white in round 1 with my actor doing some muay moves and also doing the Wai Kru. The Wai Kru is a ritual dance that each fighter performs before a fight in order to show respect to there head coach. The Wai Kru is also a spiritual way of sealing the ring before a fight. These moves performed go back hundreds of years to the origins of Muay Thai. The band around the head is a way of knowing where each fighter is from, if the band is pointing down at the back it shows that the fighter is not from thailand, if the band is pointing up it means he/she is from thailand.
In Round 1 it shows some basic moves slowed down in black and white. In round 2 theres a bit more color in it and its quickened up from the previous round. I like the way its edited as its gettin gradually faster as time goes by, just like a real Thai fight. The 3rd and final round is a strong color palette and it even faster, music and audio is faster and the editing action is furious, in a real fight this would be the case as the music quickens and its getting closer to the end.
Overall o think this a good video as its exactly what i had in mind in terms of action, music and style. My friend Conor Cooke was the actor in the vid was more than helpful in making this piece. Conor currently holds World Titles in kickboxing and was a champion ametur boxer when he was younger so he had more than enough experience when it came to film it. I think he made this video really good as it needed someone with fight experience. I think my video turned out good and it was great fun directing and shooting this final piece so im pleased with the final outcome!
